Browse Through Outer Space History

On the official Facebook page for Apollo 18, a Facebook app called ‘MISSIONS’ allows fans to browse through the history of the Apollo timeline and the international Space Race. Starting with February 26, 1966 with AS-201 a photo and caption show the first unmanned test flight that proved safe satellite re-entry is possible. Ending in 1972 with the 10th and 11th manned Apollo missions, video accompanies image showcasing the exploration of the moon’s highlands and the last “official” NASA moon landing. In the space race tab, fans can start browsing on October 4, 1957 with Sputnik 1 and view the first man-made satellite to orbit the Earth. For the true history buffs, check out 1963 to see Kennedy’s speed to the UN proposing a joint lunar program with the Soviet Union.

Make Your Own Driver Poster

On the official Facebook page for Driver: San Francisco, a movie poster creator app has been launched. Fans can pick from one of 5 iconic styles and start creating their own personalized Driver movie poster. After a style has been chosen the user must select a car (Mustang or Le Mans ) and then choose their co-stars from their Facebook friends. Once the final image has been assembled, high resolution assets are replaced and the poster is complete. Fans can post the photo to their photo album, download or share it!

Guilt Can Be A Killer

On the official Facebook page for Dexter, a new game called “Know the Code” has been launched that tests fans to see if they have the facts straight. From story points to his “human side” to Forensics 101, fans must proceed through the test to see if they make the cut and understand Dexter’s serial killing tendencies or secret obsessions. On launch, fans can invite up to 3 friends to start playing or skip that and being round one. Fans have 30 seconds for each question and must progress through 3 rounds in order to advance.

Play Some Pinky Dink Pinball!

On the official Facebook page for the upcoming Happy Madison comedy Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star, fans can start bumping the tables and play some Hollywood pinball. Click “Like” and hit play to start dropping balls. Funky music and audio clips from the movie get the game hopping. Fans can earn achievements along the way and publish to their wall and share with friends. Once fans have reached higher points and unlocked new achievements, they can send power pinballs to their friends to get them playing.

Madden Smack Shack Is Open!

On Facebook, EA has launched a Facebook engagement destination for Madden 12 that allows fans to get deep inside the head of their opponent. Fans can send a smack video to a friend featuring NFL players like Arian Foster, Ray Lewis, Mark Sanchez and Ladanian Tomlinson. With each engagement, the smacks get harder and more vicious. Tag a photo or “check in” with one of your friend’s ladies (mom, sister, wifey, etc.) to up the ante and increase the smack. The smack downs get intense letting fans make a date for victory and even fake a relationship status with one of their friend’s significant others. OK Go X Google Chrome

An HTML5 collaboration between the band OK Go, the dance troupe and choreographers Pilobolus, and Google lets users embed their message in a music video and have the band dance it out. Powered by Google Chrome, fans are told to enter a message and shut down other running applications in order to proceed. On launch, the fan is asked to choose whether they want to see the whole video or just their message. A series of moving feet then form the user’s message across multiple browser windows. Fans can share a link to their custom experience, play the video again, send as an e-card, save as a wallpaper or download the song. A behind the scenes video gives users an in-depth look at how the program came together.

Who’s Your Go-To Buddy?

The new buddy comedy 50/50 starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen has launched a Facebook engagement called Who’s Your Go-To Buddy After an introduction by Joseph, Seth and the screenwriter the application begins pulling the user’s Facebook data and lets the user choose at least 5 friends to decide who their go-to buddy is. After analyzing the friendships, the app chooses the least annoying friend and someone that has the most in common with the user (polling from FB data like birthdays, locations, groups, hometowns). If the user is unsatisfied with the results, they can pick their own friend and identify their go-to buddy. Results can be posted to the user’s wall. Fans can also “Like” the official page and enter to win a hometown screening for 50 friends!

Pick A Friend And Blast Through The Walls Of Brotherhood

On the official site for Gears of Wars at Xbox.com, fans can experience an interactive Facebook connected engagement video and help blast through new content. An onboarding video spins around a cement cube which is then detonated and blasted apart. Fans can use their mouse to slide back and forth in time to watch the explosion as it flares and then dies out revealing an etching in the cement of Marcus Fenix and his partner Dominic Santiago. Fans can click on each character and reveal a new character wallpaper for Marcus and a new video featuring Dominic, both of which can be posted to Facebook or shared. To access additional new chapter content, fans can connect with their friends (“someone that’s got your back”) on Facebook and invite them into the program to continue to unlock more community assets and rewards. Act quickly, the call to action only lasts 24 hours.

Create Your Own Coke Drink

Coke’s Freestyle dispensers aim to deliver on your 13-year old soda fountain mischief: mixing any combination of their beverages to form your own unique cocktail. As a way of generating excitement for the national roll-out of these very real-world machines, Coke recently launched the Coca-Cola Freestyle app on Facebook {link no longer active} (along with an iPhone and Android game) that allows fans to mix their own unique drinks using 125 Coke beverages. Upon mixing your concoction, a ‘push’ button invites you to fill your cup and name your beverage. The Facebook Page allows you to ask for a Freestyle machine in your town, if one is not currently available via one of Coke’s partners.

Tell Your Resident Evil Story

In honor of the upcoming HD re-releases of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Capcom is asking for submissions from the series’ fans to send in their best stories of their favorite Resident Evil related gaming moments and memories that the franchise has provided throughout the years. It doesn’t matter what format the story is in either. Capcom is looking for text, photos, videos, and anything else fans can come up with to commemorate their Resident Evil memories. Once all the submissions are accumulated, Capcom will be making a short video series of the best fan created content that they will show on the Resident Evil 4 HD and Resident Evil Code Veronica X HD site. Submit your Resident Evil stories here {link no longer active} for a chance to have it featured on both Capcom-Unity and GameTrailers and look for Resident Evil 4 HD when it releases on Xbox Live and the Playstation Network on September 20; followed by the release of Resident Evil: Code Veronica on September 27.
