Columbia Pictures has announced that the next Spider-Man film will be titled The Amazing Spider-Man, in a nod to the original ’60s comic. The movie is set to release on July 3, 2012 and will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker.
The movie will also feature Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben Parker, Sally Field as Aunt May and Denis Leary as George Stacy. Shooting is taking place right now with 500 Days of Summer director Marc Webb at the helm.
