Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V has been an immense best-seller since its release on consoles last month, racking up $1 billion in sales and counting. On the heels of that news, it may not be too long before we see a PC version.

Eurogamer has reported that the game will be released on the PC front sometime next year. Back in August, Nvidia senior director of investor relations Chris Evenden stated that the version was being considered.

“(PC) gamers are preparing their systems for a stronger roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto V and Assassin’s Creed IV,” he stated.

Nvidia since said the statement was made in error, but look at the history of the franchise. Back in 2008, Grand Theft Auto IV only came out for consoles in April 2008, but followed on PC eight months later. Rockstar’s likely to take this route with GTA V as well. Why not score a huge payoff when they don’t even have to pull a heist to get it
