Prices for Microsoft’s Surface RT tablets in several variations were posted briefly on the Microsoft Store. The device itself is expected to officially launch later in October.
The floor for the devices is at $499 for a 32GB Surface on its own, or $599 for the same unit with a black keyboard Touch Cover. A 64GB version of the Surface with a black Touch Cover was also offered for $699, while the Touch Covers themselves came in a variety of colors priced $119 individually, and the slightly thicker Type Cover alternative was priced at $129.
The Surface tablets running Windows 8 Pro, were not listed. Those tablets, which will run on Intel chips and have options for more memory, are expected to ship a few months after the Surface RT debut and sell for as much as $1,000.
