Khaled Helioui has been named as CEO of Bigpoint, being promoted from his previous role as chief games officer. He replaces Heiko Hubertz, who stepped down four months ago, and will signal a renewed focus on game quality at the free-to-play browser-based publisher.

“I am really excited about the new concepts and the quality of the games that we are going to see over the next few years,” said Heloui. “I genuinely believe we are entering a new era for gaming and the space is going to experience a disruption that is not driven by a new business model, technology or platform but by unleashed creativity.”
