According to the China Game Industry Report 2012, the Chinese game industry saw income of 60.28 billion yuan ($9.7 billion), a year-on-year increase of 35.1 percent. This is led by China’s online game market, which saw sales of 56.96 billion yuan ($9.1 billion) and accounted for 94.5 percent of total revenue, while the mobile gaming market sales were 3.24 billion yuan ($520 million), accounting for 5.4 percent.

In addition, the report also predicts that by 2017, China’s game market revenue will increase to 135.22 billion yuan ($21.7 billion). This would reflect year-on-year growth of 12.4 percent from 2013 to 2017, with a compound annual growth rate of 12.3 percent.
