Rovio has announced that Angry Birds has reached 200 million downloads a mere two months after hitting the 100 million download mark. This download milestone includes Angry Birds, Angry Birds: Seasons and Angry Birds: Rio, with three million in Angry Birds merchandise items also sold to date.

“We have seen more growth and engagement with Angry Birds games and merchandise across all markets,” said Rovio CEO Mikael Hed. “The growing numbers of fans give us more incentive to keep creating more fresh, fun and engaging Angry Birds experiences and making them available to everyone.”

Hed noted that an IPO for the company is realistic within 2-3 years.
