Should Sony’s story-driven game Heavy Rain sell well enough to warrant it, there s a Warner Bros. owned studio ready to adapt it into a feature film. As reported in 1up, the rights to the Quantic Dream developed PlayStation 3 title was snatched up by New Line Productions shortly after it was announced in 2006. The rights were renewed by the studio in 2007. New Line was then absorbed by Warner Bros. in 2008. One thing all of this could mean for the Sony IP, if the Heavy Rain film pans out, it could have front-end company credits more drawn out than some of its quick-action button-press sequences.
