Nintendo held onto its price point of $199.99 for the Wii over the holiday season, but Beth Pinsker, editorial director of dealnews.com, thinks that’s going to end in 2011, maybe going as low as $99.

“There are a whole bunch of new game systems about to come out and those are going to be more expensive and drive the price of the basic unit down,” said Pinsker. “Plus, there’s a lot of competition out there — there’s the Xbox and Sony Playstation, and Microsoft Kinect is getting really popular — so that all inflicts some damage on the Wii.”
