Live from the Flint Center in Cupertino, California this morning, Apple is streaming their hotly anticipated September event online for everyone (with an Apple device) to see. You can watch the big event and the countdown leading up to it here, and we’ll be bringing you major announcments and updates throughout on this page.
New iPhones and a wearable announcement is expected, so we’ll be following up with some analyses about the implications in the entertainment marketing sphere.Â

The stream is yet to go live, but we’ve been following and speculating on the rumor mill surrounding this day for some time. If you haven’t checked them out yet, there were thoughts around Apple gearing up for the mobile payments business, what a new iPhone, iPad and revamped Apple TV could do for gaming, strong rumors about an Apple iWatch, as well as the impact of iOS 8 on game development. That’s quite a lot of preliminary reading!

There’s a curious dearth of #Hyperlapses on this #AppleLive Twitter stream.

What’s in a hashtag #AppleLive looks to be an interesting concerted effort on social media for Apple.
First, the use of hashtag #applelive by Tim Cook, and now a live social stream updates. Apple is changing!

After some delay, it looks like the Apple stream has been having some technical difficulties. Music-wise, too.
10:10 am PST
Queue the dramatic music, it looks like the new iPhones have beveled edges once again! Still have some major streaming issues as both audio and video are out-of-sync with eachother.
10:17 am PST
The new iPhones look thin as a wisp and come in 2 sizes, confirming recent rumors. Hello iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus! On a side note, apple.com is down.
While Apple’s stream is down, some details about the new iPhone have been able to get out in the form of Apple’s own live blog. New iPhones will have 25 percent faster processing power and 50 percent faster graphics with the A8 chip, many times faster than the original iPhone. New iPhones will allow users to play games in higher resolution than next-gen consoles. Yup.
Super Evil Megacorp took the stage to give a demo of Vainglory on iPhone 6. Many other developers have commited to bringing games to iPhone 6 before years’ end.
10:32 am PST
iPhone 6’s photo capabilities look stunning on-screen. Will be interesting to see this dramatic increase in image stabilitization and resolution in person for full effect.
Quick size comparison chart so you can easily see what sets this new iPhone apart from the others:

Prices for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are competitively done from the get-go.

Apple Pay is your new wallet. Apple Pay will capture each of your credit cards and is “more secure than keeping your cards in your wallet.” Has the plastic credit card just been made obsolete Pretty much.
This is somewhat of a departure from what was speculated prior to the event in terms of revolutionizing mobile payments. This is the direct literal interpretation.

Helloooooo Apple Watch.
“Apple Watch is the most personal device we’ve ever created,” says Tim Cook.
A fair amount of emphasis seems to be on the fitness tracking capabilities behind the iWatch. It will be interesting to see how developers will make use of this as it is necessary to pair the Apple Watch with an iPhone.
