Reports are that Apple is looking to expand the screen size of the iPhone to four inches in order to compete with various Android handsets. Currently, the only thing that Apple is producing that is tablet size is the iPad that is nearly 10 inches.
Notably, Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S and Google’s Nexus S, have 4-inch panels, while Sharp uses a 5.5-inch screen and Acer is planning at 4.8-inch smartphone. It seems the 4 to 5.5-inch screen market will be very crowded very quickly for smartphones.
