Even though the company hasn’t officially confirmed it yet – it rarely does these days until about a week in advance – Apple is likely holding an event later this month that will introduce the next line of iPad devices.
AllThingsD has reported that Apple will hold an invitation-only event on October 22. Though the agenda hasn’t been fully detailed as of yet, the big presentation will likely deal with new iPad models, as well as new Mac Fro devices and the final version of OS X Mavericks.
The next iPad is likely to be lighter with a smaller besel, similar in looks to the iPad Mini. The new iPad is expected to have the 64-bit A7 chip that appears in the iPhone 5s, as well as an improved camera and possibly the new Touch ID fingerprint sensor that the iPhone 5s models currently use. An iPad Mini with a Retina display is also rumored, though availability may be limited at first.
