Activision is gearing up for a big start to 2014 with the forthcoming Destiny, the company’s long awaited collaboration with Halo developer Bungie. This science fiction adventure has been highly anticipated since its official unveiling earlier this year, and this week, the publisher announced even more big news – a beta is coming.

Set to launch sometime early next year, the Destiny beta will be accessible across both Xbox and PlayStation devices, and free to those who pre-order the game. Once the pre-order has been verified, a 9-digit entry code will be printed on their receipts, which they can turn around to register for the upcoming multiplayer beta.

Full details can be found at the official Bungie webpage, and a full list of where people can reserve Destiny can be found here.

Activision also released a new trailer for the game, featuring hard-hitting action that takes place on the moon. It can be viewed below.

Destiny will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3 early next year.
