EA Sports has partnered with mixed martial arts promoter Strikeforce to offer live online streaming for an upcoming match, reports Boxeo Mundial via a press release. The match pits welterweights Joe Riggs versus Jay Hieron, part of an event billed Strikeforce: Miami taking place Jan. 30 in Sunrise, Florida. EA will stream the event for free at its EA Sports MMA web site starting at 9 p.m. ET, an hour before cable network Showtime begins its coverage of the match. The press release states that Strikeforce is being featured in EA’s upcoming MMA videogame, including trademarks and personalities associated with the organization. Interestingly enough, at the time of this post the release included an internal note that was possibly overlooked asking whether EA had confirmed agreements with the personalities mentioned in the announcement.
