A YouTube user recently posted a video of the transformation of her arm into a tattooed mass of Facebook friend photos. Just like friends on Facebook can be, however, it turns out the tattoo was rather impermanent.
The Dutch newspaper The Telegraaf is reporting that the stunt was just that… a stunt. Rotterdam tattoo artist Dex Moelker admitted that the whole thing was, in fact, an advertisement.
It is a try-out tattoo, a transfer, that washes off in a couple of days, said Moelker, explaining that the pictures took a couple of hours to apply and not 30 hours as the YouTube video detailed.
Dutch company Pretty Social probably sponsored the video, since they sell items with pictures of Facebook friends. The woman that got the tattoo thanked Pretty Social in the video, which is also featured on the company’s home page.
