Walmart has announced that it will start selling the iPad both online and in stores on October 15. No special discounts will be applied to the devices and any orders via Walmart’s site will only be available through in-store pickup, not home delivery.
This timing should give Apple and the iPad a sales boost right in time for the holiday season, with the tablet device being available at Walmart’s 8,400 stores, along with the 221 U.S. Apple Stores, 1,093 Best Buy outlets and 1,743 Target stores. Walmart is apparently taking a wait and see approach to the various Android tablets.
