Jay-Z is working with Adult Swim on a new development deal. The rapper/mogul is likely working with the brand on an original animated series.

Details of what shape the partnership will take are still quite scarce at this point. The hip-hop artist recently performed at Cartoon Network s Adult Swim Upfront Week show.

Adult Swim has worked with rappers in the past, with MC Chris and Schoolly D lending their voices to Aqua Teen Hunger Force and other shows. Most prominently, Adult Swim has hosted three seasons of The Boondocks, a satire of African American culture and race relations.

This first TV deal by Jay-Z would mark a new high for Adult Swim’s engagement with hip-hop culture. The multiplatinum artist is reportedly worth a half billion dollars.
