Sony’s PS3 community has its first micro-transaction driven massively multiplayer game, reports  UK game maker Outso is releasing Sodium One, a MMO action game with its own community at PS3 PlayStation Home.  It’s a futuristic vehicular combat game that’s initially free to play but eventually introduces paid content to continue playing, along with upgrade items for sale.  The game is taking advantage of PlayStation Home by setting up its own community where players can buy  their in-game items to upgrade their vehicles as well as interact with other players’ avatars.

The community, called Sodium Home, even has a “bar” where players can hang out, and no doubt brag about war stories between battles.  Sony says more than 10 million PS3 users have logged onto PlayStation Home since its launch, spending an average of 60 minutes per visit.
