While in the U.S. the sales of the PSP are flagging, the system is flourishing in Japan. The system sold 326,639 units in Japan for the week of December 1, a new record in a region that’s proven to be huge fans of Sony’s portable.

Driving these sales is the largest PSP title of the year, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. The Capcom PSP title moved 2.14 million copies in Japan during its first week, and it’s expected to carry the system for much of the next year.
