According to reports, Sony has been showing off the new PSP at Gamescom. This new model is reportedly about the size of the current PSP-3000 but with touch screen controls on the underside of the unit.
The touch screen will be the way games are controlled, with the actual display being described as “rich and detailed.” Flash media support is likely, and a disc-based storage system is being scrapped in favor of digital media.
The developers who tried out the device thought it could release as soon as 2011. Sony, for its part, had no comment.
