Tagged has announced its plans for the recently acquired social network hi5. The Tagged vice president of sales and marketing Steve Sarner says it will become “a Tagged.com experience with a hi5 wrapper.”

“We think that in the short- and mid-term, running two separate brands makes sense,” Sarner says. “We don’t want to completely alienate the current userbase. In the long-term, there’s certainly an opportunity for merging the brands.”

Also worth noting, the hi5′s gaming platform will be retired for third-parties. With the third-party support not as robust as they would like, they will now focus on in-house development.
