Ernst & Young has named Dr. Lars Buttler, Founder and CEO of Trion Worlds, as a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012 program in the Northern California region. The award will be announced on June 2nd at the Fairmont San Francisco.
Trion has achieved success with their first MMO Rift, which launched in 2011 and helped produce over $100 million in revenue. The company is currently working on End of Nations, a MMO real-time strategy game, and Defiance, a collaborative project with Syfy to simultaneously produce a TV show and an online action game in the same universe, with merging storylines where consequences can be shared across mediums.
