According to reports, David O. Russell is no longer developing the Uncharted movie project. The director of Three Kings and I Heart Huckabees has apparently been soliciting multiple offers after the praise for The Fighter, so he may have simply been tempted by another project.

Russell (who is leaving the project for the second time) was set to pen the script, so Sony Pictures will have to solicit a new writer to redraft the film. It is unknown what consequence this announcement will have for long time Russell collaborator Mark Wahlberg (who was cast as Nathan Drake).
