With Verizon selling iPads, it seems to be only a matter of time until Apple announces an iPhone for North America’s largest carrier. Indeed, an analyst citing Asian parts supplier sourcers pegs a Verizon iPhone for March 2011.

“It’s on track,” said Brian Marshall, a Gleacher & Co. analyst. “It won’t be just for Verizon, there are international carriers that use CDMA, like KDDI in Japan, so I expect that Apple will make a big global push, not only in the U.S.”

Marshall expects the upside to be huge for Apple. “Apple will sell an additional 11.5 million units with Verizon. [Sales at] AT&T would go down only a couple million, but Verizon would sell at least 11.5 million in 2011.”
