Amy Dunne, Gone Girl‘s protagonist had a rather confessional Pinterest account as it leaves behind all kinds of clues for users to interpret prior to seeing the film. The pins read like diary entries and show that the character was making a transition from life in the city to life in Missouri.
The only thing that could foreseeably be improved about this interesting social effort would be that the pins each link back to the movie, so that those who happen upon the individual pins would see the film tie in as opposed to exploring it from the fictional character’s page itself.
This is an interesting character exploration that we would like to see done for other characters in film and TV in the future as well. Who wouldn’t want to see Jess from The New Girl‘s pinboard or heck, Sherlock Holmes
