It’s funny what can happen with a popular Kickstarter campaign in just 11 minutes’ time. That’s how long it took for the new Micro printer to reach its $50,000 goal, and by this point, it’s managed to fly over the $1.3 million dollar mark – setting a new record for the crowdfunding site.

The Micro, a project by M3D LLC, is a new consumer-ready 3D printer that won’t run someone an arm and a leg in price – the final unit is set to sell for around $299, which isn’t too bad considering the technology.

“It is the most affordable 3D printer that can be used right out of the box,” reads the Kickstarter page. “Perfect for beginners and experts alike, just plug in the printer, download or create models, hit print, and watch your custom creations form right before your eyes.”

The campaign still has 28 days left, so those who are interested in getting a unit and other goodies can head over to the Kickstarter page and donate.

The Micro is expected to launch this July, if production goes according to plan.
