Microsoft announced recently that they are furthering their alliance with Facebook. As a result, the social network will see more integration with Bing’s search results.

Additionally, features from Bing will make their way into Facebook searches. Bing will now display data from Facebook like user profiles and pages your friends have “Liked” on top of their regular Web searches.

“This is going to profoundly change how we search,” said Microsoft’s Yusuf Mehdi.

While Bing only represents about 11 percent of searches compared to Google’s 66 percent, Facebook has been more open in their willingness to work with Google rivals, including Microsoft and Yahoo. “They’re just trying to rapidly gain share by doing awesome stuff,” said Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg of Microsoft. “They’re really the underdog here.”
