Amazon says that the Kindle Fire is the most popular device in its history and are rushing to meet demand. They are declining to release particular sales numbers, however, and they are looking to respond to a growing list of customer complaints.

“In less than two weeks, we’re rolling out an over-the-air update to Kindle Fire,” said Drew Herdener, a company spokesman.

The particulars of the update were not mentioned, but it is said there will be improvements in performance and multitouch navigation. Customers will also be able to change the list of items that show what they have recently been doing.
