Tablet Computers In Just 5 Percent Of U.S. Households

Despite a large amount of hype from the media and electronics makers, a study by Nielsen showed that only about 5 percent of households owned a tablet computer. Further more, TMT Research estimates that tablet owners in the U.K. compose only one out of every sixty people, or 1.7 percent.

While this adoption rate puts tablets behind every other wireless device for penetration, it’s good news for non-Apple companies; the iPad currently has an 80 percent share, but there’s still plenty of room to grow. Advertisers and media types should find current tablet owners very attractive, since on average they watch more video, read more books, accept advertising more, and are more likely to answer an ad’s call-to-action after viewing than those using smartphones or other devices.

Schwarzenegger Supported By Hollywood Partners

Arnold Schwarzenegger is in the news again for having fathered an illegitimate child. While this might have been detrimental to his political career, his partners in Hollywood appear unfazed.

It doesn’t affect this movie, said producer Albert Ruddy, who is working on Cry Macho with Schwarzenegger. We’re shooting Aug. 24; we re in serious preproduction now. It hasn’t affected our sales. It s going to be interesting if we get even a bump on the foreign side. This is not gonna be a black eye for a guy with an astounding career.

This is just another one of those things no one will remember, added Ruddy. Bill Clinton went through horrendous things, and now he s regarded as one of the most popular presidents. Let he who is free of sin [cast the first stone], right The only thing that matters is how good the film is. If it fails, they’ll say it s because of the scandal. If it succeeds, they’ll say in spite of it. It doesn’t matter. The film talks for itself.
