Eve Online Players Amass Fortune With Exploit, Report Themselves

CCP revealed that five players in Eve Online used an exploit in the new faction warfare mechanics (dictated by manipulating market forces) to amass $175,000-worth of ISK. They reported it themselves to CCP, who have since fixed the glitch.

“The people who sought to benefit from this exploit will receive no gain from this system. Because this was essentially a system where you could print LP, even if ISK was provided as an input, it is classified as an exploit,” said Sreegs at CCP. “Because the players made efforts to inform us about the issue their accounts will remain in good standing. We have temporarily seized all LP points and store items from them. Once we’re done determining how much each person has benefited we will remove the LP gained value in LP and items and return the ISK invested in the purchase of items to them. This essentially will set each of them back to the original point at which they began this activity.”

Mass Effect 3: Question About The ‘Red Ending’ Answered

The “red ending” of Mass Effect 3, for those who haven’t experienced it, has Shepard gasp for air right before the credits rolls. While that is somewhat ambiguous as to his final fate, BioWare’s Tully Ackland confirmed that it means that Shepard does live in that ending.

“You may notice that in the ‘Shepard lives’ ending, the love interest hesitates to place Shepard’s name on the wall, and instead looks up as though deep in thought,” wrote Ackland. “This is meant to suggest that the love interest is not ready to believe Shepard is dead, and the final scene reveals they are correct. As the Normandy lifts off, there is hope that the love interest and Shepard will again be together.”
