In support of the popular Showtime series The Borgias, a historical interactive Facebook quiz {link no longer active} has been launched in anticipation of a social game to follow later in the series. The user receives six multiple choice questions each with four answers and must choose the correct answer before the time counts down to zero. Fans can play the quiz once per day and win prizes until the launch of the Borgias social game.

InFamous: Anarchy On Facebook Has Arrived!

Along with the launch of InFamous 2 PS3, Sucker Punch and Sony have launched InFamous: Anarchy {link no longer active} a Facebook social game that drops the user into the the post-apocalyptic world of Empire City. The user has a new life and has a chance to clean up the streets, similar to the storyline of the console version of the game. Use powers similar to Cole’s to fight through quests and missions, clean up districts, pummel rivals, and build up your own faction. Rise to the top and answer the question whether you will be the next savior or villain. Areas of the game include the Airfield, Dockyard, French Quarter, Swamps and the Casino. Increase your powers with skill points and wearable items and build up your faction by inviting friends to join and play together. Create and personalize your district, care for your battery farm and get those FarmVille and CityVille players on the run! Make moral choices along the way and battle rivals to show them who’s the boss. Players that level up in InFamous: Anarchy can unlock player skins that can be used in InFamous 2 PS3.

Rift – Broadcast Your Ascension!

Trion has recently unveiled a new in-game feature called Riftconnect {link no longer active} that allows players to post text, images and video directly to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube or Tumblr. Using the Rift patcher, players can click the Riftconnect button and log in to their preferred social network to surface and publish media. Each supported social media has its own options such as automatically posting Achievements and Discoveries on Twitter, linking to YouTube videos from other sites and hiding UI in screenshots.

Games Radar Plays Name That Tune With L.A. Noire

Games Radar has launched a contest  {link no longer active} and removed the music track from L.A. Noire and inserted iconic scores from five classic noir film scores. Name the five films that each song originally appeared in and be entered to win a one-of-a-kind L.A. Noire prize pack including a copy of the game! Prizes includes a PS3 or Xbox 360, globe lighter (straight from the Bamba club), a can of Parnell’s Soup, an L.A. Minecraft 1.6.6 Beta Available Now

An update to the downloadable Minecraft client are available now. A new use for bonemeal has been added and glowstones have been changed from glass to stone and require a pickaxe to mine resources from it. Glowstones also drop more loot. Unlimited FPS has been reintroduced and renamed again and boats now fall into water and rise to the surface quicker. Happy mining!

Details Emerge About Call Of Duty Elite

Leading the charge in the future offerings of cross-platform services, Call of Duty Elite  {link no longer active} is now open for Beta registration. Players will be able to link their Facebook accounts to Elite to pull in “Likes” and find friends who are also using the service. Elite also introduces groups and clans which play a larger role in Modern Warfare 3. Similar to fan pages on Facebook, users can track and compare within these mini-communities of players. Clans are more limited and players can only belong to one clan with a cap on how many players can be in a single clan. Available on web browsers, consoles and mobile apps, Elite will work with all future Call of Duty games, including Black Ops with four major sections: Career, Connect, Compete and Improve. Full launch will occur alongside Modern Warfare 3 in November with the Beta already open for use in Black Ops. Largely free, a premium membership is needed for access to full functionality and access to downloadable content. A new video on the beta site captured in Theater Mode The Legend of Karl demonstrates how the service will allow users to take their game to the next level. According to Karl, Call of Duty Elite {link no longer active} is what it would be like if organized sports and social networking had a baby and they gave that baby a flamethrower.
